Dr Radu is a qualified Counselling Psychologist who completed her Doctorate at City University London in 2014. Dr Radu has also obtained a postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London in 2016. She currently has provisional BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies) accreditation with full accreditation due in 2018. In her current position within an adult Psychological Therapies Service, Dr Radu offers psychological assessment and a range of short and long term therapeutic interventions to clients experiencing common mental health difficulties including depression and all types of anxiety disorders. She uses CBT approaches being sensitive to clients’ unique subjective experience of their conditions.
Dr Radu has a special interest in trauma work and has been working for over 5 years with survivors of gender based violence. She also has specialist experience of working with people who have experienced trafficking, sexual violence and domestic violence. Her work is intended to enable people to empower themselves to live more meaningful lives.
Dr Radu is fluent in Romanian language.
